ASHE NY Metro Project of the Year!

We're excited to announce that Michael Baker International’s work on the Hunts Point Interstate Access Improvement Project Contract 2 in The Bronx, New York, was recently honored with the 2023 Large Project of the Year Award from the American Society of Highway Engineers (ASHE) New York Metro Section.

Our LiDAR team is THRILLED to have been part of such a complex and challenging project!

Michael Baker served as the Roadway Designer for the Hunts Point Interstate Access Improvement Project, providing roadway and staging design services including geometry, grading and modeling for approximately 1.5 miles of the elevated Bruckner Expressway (Interstate 278 – New York State Department of Transportation roadway) and Bruckner Boulevard (New York City Department of Transportation roadway), as well as two new interchange ramps under an accelerated design-build schedule.
